Coin Highlights:
The American Silver Eagle Proof coin has the same design as the bullion coin. However, each Proof coin has a more beautiful visual appearance due to the use of matte design elements and mirrored background. The American Silver Eagle Proof coin bears the mintmark of the issuing mint.
Proof Silver Eagles struck by the United States Mint bore the "S" mintmark from 1986 to 1992. Coins struck from 1993 to 2000 bore the "P" mintmark of the Philadelphia Mint. All coins struck since 2001 have the "W" mintmark of the West Point Mint.
All of these 33-coin sets include every coin in the 1986 to 2019 American Silver Eagle Proof series. Each coin comes with its own certificate of authenticity, and there are no 2009 coins in the series. In 2009, during the silver coin boom, the U.S. Mint did not issue Silver Eagle Proof coins because all the silver blanks were used to produce silver bars.
The obverse of all 1986-2019 American Silver Eagle Proof coins features Walking Liberty. The image was created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916 and originally appeared on the Walking Liberty half dollar coins from 1916 to 1947.
The reverse of the American Silver Eagle Proof coin features the American Heraldic Eagle. The design is as old as the United States Mint itself, and was modernized by John Mercanti in 1986. The reverse of each Proof coin features an American Bald Eagle behind the nation's heraldic shield.
